Unless you're lucky like DAcaur and have a company building you a titanium drive line. I haven't really seen any parts for the 1/16 scale R/C's that are better. Stick to RPM parts for suspension and traxxas parts for suspension and driveline. Only replace things that break, and when you do, try to avoid the fancy alum parts by Integy and other companies. I'm still fairly new to hobby grade R/C's having only been messing with them for about 3 years now, and I can say that the MERV will be awesome for you, but get those T-Bone bumpers for added assurance. T-Bone bumpers 110% all the way for those who like bashing or are new to R/C's and haven't figured out the "right touch" of throttle and brake. I couldn't agree with you more about the RPM parts and especially the T-Bone Bumpers. Imagine the slash with the wheels sticking out past the fenders. My buddy converted his slash into a MERV, but kept the body mounts and the slash body! Actually Looked pretty good! He had to trim the fenders a bit to accept the Talons, but when he had the slash wheels on there it looked good. They make great products that are so very durable. If you are bashing theres a pretty good chance youll break some a-arms and axle carriers eventually. Glad to hear youre enjoying it man, watch those temps while running series and doing speed runs you dont want to burn up your esc or motor, although traxxas has great support if it does happen. Still getting used to that, I've never had an R/C that's so powerful before. I guess it's either that or I need a bit more throttle control. I'm already looking into new tires though, these stock ones were spinning wildly on the hard gravel and dirt that we have here in CO. I'll likely swap it back shortly though as I plan to mostly use this thing on dirt. Last night I swapped in the speed pinion so I'm ready to try a couple of full speed runs today to see what it's like. I guess if it comes loose again, I'll get another shot at it. But, it seems to be holding on pretty strongly. So, the tire isn't fully seated in the bead in a few spots. For some reason, I didn't expect it to be like super glue. I wasn't prepared for how quickly the glue sets. So, I went to the LHS and bought some tire glue and reglued the tire. Well, I shouldn't say I learned just yet, but it's on there at least :-) After running the car for about an hour yesterday, I noticed the inner bead of the LR tire was coming loose. So, after day one, I've already learned how to glue tires.
